Quote of the Day

Remember: If you are prepared for the dead to walk the earth in search of human brains, then a hurricane or attempted mugging is no big deal.

Quote of the Day

When people tell me that they have no need for a firearm, I don't argue with them. I simply ask them if they'd thought about how quickly that can change. It may be that when you left for work, you had no need for a firearm. That you had correctly assessed that the odds of your having to deal with a violent encounter were trivial. Still...
You may well get home and find one of your wife's college friends on the couch, hiding from an abusive husband. Are you going to be able to obtain, and to learn how to effectively and safely use, a firearm, before said abusive husband starts breaking in your door five hours later?

Quote of the Day

From a conversation on Facebook about the Chinese buying our national forests:

I blame the Irish Zionists. When they get together with the Kremlin and the Knights Templar, there's just no stopping 'em. They sold the Washington Monument for $2500 last week to fund a kegger in honor of the Greys, with Xenu as the guest speaker. Elvis was supposed to play, but he's in hiding on the set of the faked Apollo landing until after the JFK files are released in 2017 proving that AIDS caused Pearl Harbor.

Quote of the Day

Neighbor: "So why do you carry that?"

Me: "I don't want my last thought to be 'Gee, I wish I had a gun...'."

Quote of the Day

There's no gate around my house. But there is a conviction that friends should be met at the door with open arms--and enemies with loaded ones.

Quote of the Day

Right answers are ones that give people incentives to meet their own needs without imposing costs on others. Wrong answers are ones that give people perverse incentives to impose costs on others.

Quote of the Day

Disarming the law-abiding doesn’t do a thing to control the lawless. It’s the legal and moral equivalent of grabbing some random person off the street, taking away anything that could be used as an effective weapon, tossing them into the ring with a trained heavyweight boxer who has had days and weeks to prepare for the fight, and telling the surprised and unwilling opponent to “fight fair”.

Quote of the Day

Riddle me this: How come owning a gun makes me a paranoid wannabe cop, but owning a fire extinguisher or first-aid kit doesn't make me a paranoid wannabe firefighter or EMT?

"Look at Fedex and UPS. They're both doing great. It's the Post Office that's in trouble."

Quote of the Day

The key to understanding the American system (of government) is to imagine that you have the power to make nearly any law you want. But your worst enemy will be the one to enforce it.

Quote of the Day

Remember that charges of faulty motivations, being funded by evil scheming organizations, or even of racism are effectively admissions of weakness. People who make such arguments are basically admitting that they cannot argue the issue on its merits, and so must resort to tarring the other side so that they can say the people raising the issue don’t deserve a response.

Quote of the Day

"I was once told by a fellow that being shot with ball is "only like being stabbed with an ice pick, while a hollow point makes a big hole." My response was that if I stabbed him in the chest three or four times with an ice pick, I would probably accomplish what I wanted to anyway."

Quote of the Day

Why should the people get something through government–that is, at the point of a gun–simply because they want it? We make that assumption reflexively, but why? Fifty-seven percent may be willing to pay higher taxes for universal health insurance, but let’s not overlook what else they are willing to do: tax the 37 percent who aren’t willing to pay higher taxes.

Quote of the Day

"So… if I’ve got this right, putting my Finance Manager hat on, your economic exit strategy is to spend your way into a hole, and then to pray for death? Hmmm… That sounds about right."

Quote of the Day

"No God tolerates the wanton butchery of His children -- not mine, nor yours; not the God of Abraham, the God of Paul, nor the God of Mohammed; not even the old Gods of fire and fury, neither the many thousand Gods of the Hindus, nor those of the Han, allow the murder of their innocent children.

Reflect on that, you wretched excuses for men, and despair."

Quote of the Day

"A general rule of thumb when dealing with ANY bureaucrat, and cops are bureaucrats, is to never burden them with unnecessary information. Bottom line: why complicate issues?"

Quote of the Day

"If I had a yen for the sweet, sweet taste of human flesh, what in the world makes you think that I'd pay someone else to supply my needs?"
